Borrower rights
As a regulated lender, we are bound by the Reserve Bank of India’s regulations on fair practice and treatment of customers. The following rights apply to every borrower and cannot be waived.
- Key Facts Statement before commitment. You must receive a written statement of the sanctioned amount, interest rate, tenure, repayment schedule, all fees and the total amount repayable before you commit to the loan.
- Cooling-off period. Three days from receipt of the Key Facts Statement to exit before disbursal, at no cost and without needing to give a reason.
- No charge outside the Key Facts Statement. We are prohibited from recovering any amount that has not been disclosed there.
- Transparent interest computation. The method of calculating interest and the applicable rate are stated in writing, and a loan account statement is available to you on request.
- No coercion. Recovery action is taken in accordance with the RBI’s Fair Practice Code — with notice, at permitted hours, and without resorting to harassment or public shaming.
- Personal data protection. Your information is used only for lawful lending purposes and is not sold to third parties.
- Effective grievance redressal. A named officer, defined timelines, and an escalation route to the RBI Ombudsman.
Fair Practice Code
Our Fair Practice Code is a commitment on how we market, sell, service and recover. It is displayed at every branch and forms part of staff training and appraisal.
- Marketing. We do not make misleading claims, offer unstated financial inducements, or use aggressive or misleading advertising. We do not contact borrowers with a view to inappropriate cross-selling.
- Disclosures. Borrowers are told the borrowing cost, the terms and the consequences of default in a manner they can understand, in a language they are comfortable with.
- Assessment of ability to repay. We do not lend to a borrower whose repayment capacity has not been assessed, and we do not encourage over-borrowing.
- Privacy. Borrower information is kept confidential and is not shared with unauthorised persons.
- Requests for information. Borrowers may request information about the terms on which credit is extended, the interest charged, the instalments and any charges in a substantially complete form.
- Complaints. A borrower’s complaint is acknowledged and resolved within the prescribed timelines, and the borrower is informed of the outcome.
- Recovery. Recovery is conducted with dignity. Notices are issued before visits, contact is made only at permitted hours and through permitted means, and staff are prohibited from resorting to public shaming, harassment or force.
- Non-discrimination. Lending decisions are based on business merit and assessed repayment capacity, and not on caste, creed, religion, gender or personal identity.

Complaint categories monitored
We publish the root-cause analysis of complaints quarterly, in the format prescribed by the RBI, covering matters such as interest and penalty disputes, recovery conduct, data security, staff behaviour, and delays in processing.
Recovery & enforcement
Recovery of dues is conducted through in-house staff and approved agents, in line with the RBI’s Fair Practice Code for NBFCs.
- A written notice is issued before any visit or field action.
- Contact is made only between 07:00 and 19:00, and not on Sundays or public holidays, except as permitted for urgent communication of arrears.
- Recovery staff are not permitted to use force, threaten, abuse, or shame a borrower, or to act in a manner that is humiliating.
- Collection of dues is only from the assets that were charged to us, and the borrower is informed before any action affecting those assets is taken.
- Legal action, where necessary, is pursued before the competent civil forum in accordance with the terms of the agreement.
- We do not outsource recovery to unvetted agencies and do not engage in any conduct that would bring the borrower’s financial condition to public notice.
Fraud awareness
Fraud impersonating a lender is a growing problem for borrowers. Please note the following, and treat any contrary approach as suspect.
How to verify a call from us
- End the call. Never continue a conversation initiated by an unknown caller.
- Call us independently on the number published on this website.
- Ask for the officer’s name and branch, and confirm the interaction with the branch.
Things we will never ask for
- Your OTP, PIN, CVV, net banking password or one-time passcode — for any reason, at any stage.
- A payment to release or process a sanctioned loan. We never disburse in cash and never ask for a “processing” deposit.
- A guarantee of approval. Sanction is an internal credit decision and cannot be arranged by an agent.
- Your account access to check balances. We verify details; we do not need you to log in for us.
Report it
Report suspected impersonation or fraud to +234 815 177 0025 or connect@yunashmfl.com, and simultaneously to the cybercrime helpline or your local police. Do not share documents with any caller until identity is independently verified.
